Copper Star Bank History
On May 22, 2000 Copper Star Bank (formerly known as Scottsdale Community Bank) opened its doors for business serving the Scottsdale Airpark area. After the first two years of business and the move to its new corporate offices at 7555 E Redfield Road, Paul V. Brodt joined the Bank as President & CEO in September of 2002. Under Brodt’s direction and with his new management team the Bank began a very successful period of growth, growing by more than 300% in less than three years. As part of the growth and expansion plan, Brodt and his team realized the importance of serving the entire metropolitan area and with that changed the name of the Bank to Copper Star Bank. Shortly thereafter, the Bank purchased two parcels of property for future branch expansion, one in the Deer Valley area and the second location in the city of Peoria. In October of 2004, a second Copper Star branch opened its doors for business at 19th Avenue and the Loop 101 Freeway. In less than one year and operating out of leased office space, the 19th Avenue office reached $25 million in deposits. Copper Star Bank recently expanded to the West Valley with its third location at 7655 W. Thunderbird Road in Peoria.
